Indiana Swimming is committed to safeguarding our athletes by enacting the
Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy - MAAPP.
What is Safe Sport?
Safe Sport is a comprehensive abuse prevention initiative that uses a multi-faceted strategy
to ensure the safety of young athletes. This includes required policies,
best-practice guidelines, mandatory screenings such as criminal background checks
and employment verifications, training, education, supervision, and mandatory reporting.
These measures, shaped by child safety experts, represent some of the
strongest safeguards against abuse in youth-focused organizations.
