Assistant Swim Team Coach
Under the supervision of the Aquatic Director and Head Swim Team Coach, the Assistant Swim Team Coach will be responsible for developing the abilities of swimmers of various ages and diverse skill levels.  He/She assists the Head Swim Team Coach in scheduling practices, establishing meet schedules, supervising the swimmer’s behavior at practices and meets, and recruiting new swimmers.

Must have previous experience with competitive swimming as a coach and/or swimmer, Current YMCA or American Red Cross WSI certification is preferred; Specialist in YMCA Aquatic Leadership is preferred. CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid is required, must become certified in AED, O2 and PDT within sixty days of employment. Within the first 6 months of employment incumbent needs to become YISSA certified. Must be at least sixteen years of age.

The main responsibilities of the position are: maintain safety and security of participants at all times; plan, direct, and attend all swim team practices and meets; maintain proper records and team lists in relation to swim team and report as needed; schedule and attend all team meets, develop events, and coordinate entry information; relate to individual swimmers in a personal basis at practices, meets and other functions; relate to parent concerns through individual contacts by appointments and phone calls; know the YMCA’s emergency action plan and location of all emergency equipment.
