Washington Township Swim Club: Part-time Assistant Age Group Coach Needed

Washington Township Swim Club, located in Indianapolis, IN is looking for a qualified and dynamic Assistant Coach.  Our club is a USA Swimming year-round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for swimmers of varying abilities ages 6-18.  The Assistant Coach will assist in the administering and supervising of workouts, must be able to coach early evening hours Monday-Friday and Saturday mornings.  The Coach will also need to be available to attend meets on selected weekends. Applicant must have a strong desire to teach and coach younger, developmental swimmers (ages 10 & under). The position is part- time, approximately 6 to 8 hours per week, with potential for growth. Current certification in CPR, First Aid and Safety Training or the ability to achieve them is required.  Applicant must be (or become before the first day of employment) certified as a coach by USA Swimming, which includes undergoing a background check.  Interested applicants please send resumes to the Head Coach Matt Papachronis.

a)  Passion for the sport and a desire to positively influence our swimmers
b) The ability to effectively engage, manage and motivate younger athletes 
c)  Good moral character, integrity, accountability, and reliability
d) A healthy, age-appropriate, and positive demeanor 
e) Sound knowledge of technique and solid practice administration skills
f)  A willingness to learn and collaborate
g) Ability to organize productive workouts under the direction of the Head Coach
h) Effective communication with parents, athletes and other coaches
i)  Computer skills a plus
j) Other duties, as needed

Preference will be given to those who a) value technique development as the most important aspect of training b) are ASCA certified and c) possess USA Swimming background in competition and/or coaching.
