Team
Phoenix Aquatics – Head Coach
This
position is open immediately for the Short Course 2011-2012 season, and will be
filled when the ideal applicant is found.
Club: Team Phoenix Aquatics
is a non-profit 501c3 organization established in 2007 that serves the city of
Danville, IL and surrounding communities. We
currently utilize an 8 lane 25 yard pool located at Danville High School. Our
mission is to provide our local community with an aquatics program that
develops all levels of swimmers and fosters self-improvement, personal growth,
physical training, a healthy lifestyle and a lifelong love of swimming that
extends well into adulthood. We also strive to create a family atmosphere by
encouraging team unity, parental participation and social interaction.
Position: Team Phoenix
Aquatics is seeking a qualified applicant to assist in training our swimmers
ranging from ages 7-17.
Responsibilities: This is a part
time position, offering up to 10 hours per week. Duties include evening
practices Monday through Thursday 5:30-7:30, Fridays 5:30-6:30 and attendance
at meets on weekends when scheduled.
Coach is expected to keep accurate records of attendance and practice
logs and develop strong season plans that help swimmers develop proper
stroke techniques and optimal swim progressions.
Qualifications: Applicants (if
not previously certified) must be willing to complete certification in CPR and
water safety and become a registered coach member of United States Swimming,
which requires a criminal background check. A college degree and previous
competitive swimming and /or coaching experience are preferred, but not
required.
Compensation: Pay will be
based on experience and qualifications. Coach will be compensated for traveling
to meets (mileage & hotel). Professional (certification) costs and
continuing education (certifications, clinics, etc.) costs will be covered by
the club.
