Riverside Aquatic Club – Age Group Coaching Position

This position starts in the Fall of 2011. 

Riverside Aquatic Club is located in New Albany, Indiana, a suburb of Louisville, KY, operating out of the pools of the New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation.  We currently utilize two 8 lane 25 yard pools located at New Albany HS and at Highland Hills MS in Georgetown.  The club is approximately 175 members with a Learn to Swim Program, and a summer league team associated with the Southern Indiana Swim Association.  The team has a strong relationship with the School Corporation and the New Albany-Floyd County Parks Dept.

The team is a 501(c)3 not for profit with a strong parent board and a Head-Coach CEO.  The team is a Level 2 Club.

RAC is seeking qualified applicants to serve as a lead group coach with the club’s developmental athletes ages 12 and under.  This is a part-time position offering up to 7-8 hours per week.  Duties include evening practices Mon thru Friday, and meets approximately every three weeks.  Regular staff meetings are scheduled and coaches are expected to attend those and other events, such as fundraisers or meetings.  Coaches are expected to keep accurate records for group, maintain communications through email with both parents in group and

other staff.

Applicants must be willing to complete (if they do not have) certifications in CPR and water safety and become a registered coach member of United States Swimming, which requires a criminal background check.  A college degree and previous competitive swimming experience and/or coaching experience are preferred.  Applicants must also be willing to engage in continuing education with the goal of being ASCA certified.

Pay will be based on experience and qualifications.  Coaches will be compensated for travel to meets (gas) and will have rooms and meals covered.  Certifications and continuing education costs are covered by the club.
