Program:

Northridge Area Swimming Association (NASA) is located in northern Indiana approximately 45 minutes due east of South Bend.  Our “closed” club was founded in 1990 and serves children in the Middlebury Community School District.  The school and club have an outstanding relationship as NASA trains and competes in the Northridge High School facility.  A new high school will open in the fall of 2008 and will include a new pool that will open in January 2009.  At that time, NASA will have access to both facilities.  The club has enjoyed success at all levels from Developmental to an Olympic Trials Qualifier.

Job Opportunity:

NASA has a need for an experienced Co-Head Age Group Coach to lead our 11-14 training groups.  The candidate selected will work along side an experienced 10 and Under Co-Head Coach and with Head Senior Coach and Club Director, Joe Keller.  This is a part time salaried position with other revenue producing opportunities being available such as overseeing our highly successful Learn-to-Swim Program.  If other employment is needed then the NASA Board of Directors will assist in that process.  This is the perfect opportunity for a young coach with a desire to learn and grow in conjunction with two experienced coaches to gain experience as a Head Coach.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Salary will be commensurate with experience while meet/travel expenses will be covered including those for higher level meets and/or clinics.  USA Registration fees will be paid along with allocation to grow through the ASCA coaches certification program.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of seasonal, weekly and daily training plans while preparing athletes to reach short/long term individual and team goals.  Administrative responsibilities will be included as the 11-14 Head Coach will oversee meet entries, assistant group coaches and have the ability to communicate and market effectively with/to athletes, parents, coaches and the board of directors. 

Requirements:

College Education

USA Swim Coaching experience – assistant or head

ASCA level 2 or 3 preferred

This position will be filled as soon as the ideal candidate is located.  Position officially begins in late August.
